What this means for e-commerce and DTC brands

CTR is the first signal of whether creative earns attention. Above the band means creative or targeting that works, below it usually means creative fatigue or audiences that were never interested. A high CTR with a low conversion rate points at the landing page, not the ad.

What this benchmark does not tell you

Link CTR is lower than the "CTR (all)" figure Meta shows by default, which also counts likes and profile clicks. Video-heavy and awareness campaigns pull CTR down by design. The panel reflects adtribute's customer base, which skews toward growth-stage direct-to-consumer brands.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CTR for Facebook / Meta Ads?

For the DTC brands in our panel, the median link click-through rate is 1.26 percent as of August 2026, up 0.4 points from 0.89 percent a year earlier, and the middle half of brands sits between 0.96 percent and 1.62 percent. By industry, the median ranges from 1.15 percent in home & living to 1.51 percent in beauty & personal care. Above the band usually means creative and targeting that earn attention, below it creative fatigue or audiences that were never interested.

What is the average CTR for Facebook ads?

The median across our panel is 1.26 percent, computed per brand as link clicks ÷ impressions across all campaign types. Published averages range from below 1 to above 2 percent mostly because some quote link CTR and others CTR (all).

Is a 6 percent click-through rate good on Facebook?

As a link CTR on prospecting it would be exceptional, above the top quartile of 1.62 percent. Check which metric you are reading: CTR (all) counts every click including likes and profile visits and runs far higher, and retargeting audiences click much more than cold audiences.

What is the difference between link CTR and CTR (all) on Meta?

Link CTR only counts clicks that lead to a destination such as your shop. CTR (all) counts every interaction with the ad, including reactions, comments, shares and profile clicks. For e-commerce, link CTR is the one that relates to traffic and cost per click, and it is the one this benchmark uses.

How do I improve CTR on Facebook ads?

Creative does most of the work: a clear product shown in the first seconds, a concrete offer, and formats native to the placement. Refresh creative when frequency rises and CTR falls, and broaden audiences that have saturated. Every gain in CTR lowers CPC at the same CPM: at the median CPM of €10.54, moving from 1.0 to 1.5 percent link CTR cuts cost per click from €1.05 to €0.70.

Where does this benchmark come from, and how often is it updated?

It is aggregated from the connected ad accounts, first-party tracking and Shopify orders of a subset of adtribute customers, all direct-to-consumer brands. The panel is balanced, the same brands in every month since January 2025, so the line moves because the market moved, not because the panel changed. Only medians and quartile bands are published, never a single brand's value, and the series updates every month.
